Calgary Owned & Operated Landfill

In our over 25-year history, ECCO Recycling has always remained in good standing with Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP), maintaining our AEP Approval and operating in an environmentally compliant and responsible manner. When disposing of waste or recyclable materials at ECCO, you can rest easy knowing your Company is adhering to the applicable waste disposal legislation in the Environmental Enhancement and Protection Act (EPEA) and reducing your risk.

Sustainability & Longevity

Through innovative and "outside of the box" thinking we recycle, reuse and repurpose as much material as we can. ECCO Recycling has developed several methods to repurpose previously used Construction and Demolition Materials, such as grinding asphalt shingles to a required spec for use in asphalt, grinding wood materials into landscape mulch or animal bedding and much more.

Landfill

Throughout ECCO Recycling’s business operations our overarching goal is to protect the environment through implementation of sound environmental practices, adherence to environmental legislation and diversion of materials for reuse into commercial and industrial products.

Materials Recycling

ECCO Recycling’s Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) is one of the largest in North America with a well equipped and highly mechanized system designed to facilitate sorting and processing of materials from commercial and industrial sources for reuse and recycling.

Ecco Chips

Environmentally friendly ECCO Chips are made from recycled wood materials diverted from ECCO's landfill, to the MRF for grinding into mulch before reaching our coloring and bagging facility. Wood chips are coloured using non-toxic, all natural vegetable and mineral dyes, producing a high quality landscape product for personal or commercial use.
